Yes, Summer is Coming!

The violent thunderstorms tonight found me hiding in the pantry (our "safe" room). The trees were still...not a leaf moved...there was no breeze..the sound of silence....Then, through the humid air...lightning flashed...thunder roared...the sky became an eerie shade of green...and the rains came!

Hopefully, the plants in the garden faired well. Hopefully the BUGS in the garden DID NOT. Yesterday, I was treated to the laughter of quite a few...I discovered unwanted guests in the potatoes, tomatoes and beans. And somebody is nibbling tiny holes in some leaves...Hmmm...Mr. Grasshopper...is this your handiwork? If so, I do not like it!!! As soon as the water recedes a bit, there will be measures taken.

The pics this week highlight a few\ members who are now beginning to really show their true colors...Oh, and the last picture is a visitor that watched me weed for about an hour...kind of a curious soul.

Bugs Bunny would be so proud!

By Halloween, these may have a scary face!

This butternut squash poked its head into the sun.

Beans are sprouting everywhere! The vines are long and lean!

Moo....
